Antonio Citterio is one of the big names in Italian design and architecture. Recognized since the 1970s for his contemporary streak, he inherited the craft of his father, who put his hands dirty producing classic pieces in the Lombardy region.
In addition to signing collections for the main Italian design brands, Citterio has also built a solid career in architecture. He explains that one thing leads to another: “Sometimes, while I do an interior project, I get the idea of designing products for that environment”. Today, some of his creations are on display at coveted addresses, such as MoMA (New York) and the George Pompidou Center (Paris).
In 1999 he founded with Patricia Viel the design, interior and architecture company that is currently called “Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners” and his design work includes partnerships with the brands B&B Italia, Maxalto, Flexform. This furniture design work has already won him two Compasso d'Oro awards, in 1987 (B&B Italia) and 1994.
