Founded in 2007 in Como, Italy, Draga & Aurel is a multidisciplinary design studio working across the spectrum of furniture, textiles, and interior design. The duo combines distinct backgrounds: Draga Obradovic began her career in the fashion industry in London and Milan as a textile designer, while Aurel K.
Basedow graduated in Fine Arts from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, having previously trained as a carpenter and cabinetmaker.
Renowned for their clever reinvention of vintage pieces and an artistic approach to composition, the designers gained global recognition at the 2009 Salone del Mobile. Since then, they have established successful partnerships with brands such as Baxter, Visionnaire, Wall & Deco, and the retailer Anthropologie. Interior projects like Dimora delle Balze in Sicily have expanded their aesthetic into the hospitality and lifestyle realms.
More recently, the studio has made its mark in collectible design with the Transparency Matters exhibition and participations in exclusive events like Nomad Circle in Venice and St. Moritz.
